Description
A compilation of 16 stories that appeared in The Argosy—the first “pulp” magazine—between 1896 and 1910.
These vintage tales feature such imaginative subjects as matter transmission, a laser weapon, telepathy, devices to regulate gravity and render people invisible, a murderous long-distance attack from Mars, a cannibal plant, reanimation of the dead, a regimented 1984-type society—and even such startlingly “modern” concepts as a cellular telephone and a man-made earth satellite!
Selected and edited by Gene Christie.
